Reflection: 2017
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. - Isaiah 12:3
As we close out 2017 today, I want to thank you, The Well Church, for your support in our ministry. I also wanted to share my top ten list of what I'm grateful for this year:
- 53 Sundays of Christ-Centered Worship Services.
- The Well's Vision Trip to China.
- The Lee's, Wong's and Yoon's Weddings.
- The births of Elora K., and Joseph R.
- Our successful move to Hackensack.
- Community Day (a.k.a. Sunday Funday).
- Ordination of our Elders (Andrew, Chris, and Paul).
- Baptisms of Caroline M. and Ryan K.
- The launch of "Seek His Face" prayer time on Sundays.
- The launch of "Teach Me Your Way" bible study and church-wide bible reading.
As we look forward to 2018, I want to encourage you to continue to deepen your relationship with Jesus by reading his word. The reason we read Scripture isn’t to check boxes and make ourselves feel we have accomplished anything for God. As John Piper said, "When we seek to enjoy communion with the Lord — and not to be led astray by the ambiguities of religious experience — we read the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, God’s words and God’s deeds reveal God himself for our knowledge and our enjoyment."
Let us draw Living Water from The Wells of Salvation in the New Year.
