God's Love

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” —Matthew 22:37-40

An expert in religious law asked Jesus, “Teacher, which is the great commandment of the Law?” (Matthew 22:36). Jesus first quoted from Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18. Loving God and loving your neighbor are the greatest commandments. As the Bible Project video states, “For Jesus, they’re two sides of the same coin. Your love for God will be expressed by your love for people and vice versa; they’re inseparable.”

The Well Church, here is a simple reminder: God loves you. The only way we can love God and love our neighbors is by us understanding this simple truth. Let us love God and love our neighbors as love came down on Christmas.
