God is Love

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. —1 John 4:7-8

Love is more than a feeling; it is a choice and an action. As we looked at Romans 5:8 yesterday, God demonstrated his love for us by sending Jesus Christ to die for our sins. God is love. Love came down on Christmas!

The Well Church, today’s text reminds us that God is the source of authentic love that we are able to demonstrate. As we celebrate Christ’s birth, let us also remember why he came down.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. —John 3:16
