The Passover Lamb
The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. - John 2:13
In his gospel, John keeps careful track of the Jewish calendar by their annual feasts. He mentions the Passover of the Jews three times (2:13; 6:4; 11:55), indicating three years of Jesus' ministry. The Passover of the Jews also suggests that the Christian Church no longer follows the feast because Jesus fulfilled the Passover. The Apostle Paul writes in First Corinthians 5:7,
"Christ our Passover has been sacrificed."
Jesus Christ, the ultimate Passover lamb, was sacrificed on the cross to pay for our sin. When God sees the blood of Christ on us, He will pass over us.
The Well Church, are you covered by the blood of the lamb? It is by faith that we apply the blood of Christ to us personally. Let us reaffirm our faith today by turning to Christ, asking Him to forgive our sins.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. - Lamentations 3:22-23
