Have we not all one Father?

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. - Genesis 1:1

There is but one Creator. With His spoken Word, God created everything in the universe that exists. The Apostle Paul affirms this in his letter to the Corinthians. He says,

"yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist." - 1 Corinthians 8:6

His word is truth. As His children, we must believe and obey his commandments. Proverbs 30:5 says,

Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

In the name of being relevant, relativism has crept into the church. Here is a definition of relativism by Tim Challies:

"Relativism is the view that truth is relative to a particular context and is not absolute. Truth varies from people to people, time to time, culture to culture and there are no absolutes. Truth is determined or created rather than discovered or determined."

When we believe that whatever the majority is doing is acceptable as long as there is no plausible harm, we deny absolute truth. The Well Church, God's word is truth. Let us follow God and trust in His word. Let us stand on God's word today and resist the temptation to follow the world. Let us follow Jesus.
