Merciful God

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes." - Malachi 4:5

Today's text is encouraging because it demonstrates God's mercy that precedes his judgment. While warning His people about the consequences of not following Him, He promises to send Elijah, one of the greatest prophets, before the day of the LORD. In the gospels (Matthew 17:10-13, Luke 1:17), we read this prophet was John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus,

"the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" - John 1:29

The Well Church, our God is merciful. Let us turn to Him today.
