Delight
More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. - Psalm 19:10
Do you desire the Word of God more than money or gold? Is it sweeter than anything else on earth to you? David reminds us through today's verse that God's law and His instructions ought to be more desired than anything else on earth. So, let me ask you, does it?
If you and I are honest, God's law and instruction often do not feel that way. It is sometimes hard to even carve out five minutes a day to read His Word, let alone obey His instructions wholeheartedly. However, we know that our fundamental attitude towards God's Word needs to be a delight. How can we accomplish this?
First, let us remember that our relationship with God is based on love. It is not a matter of dos and don'ts. Therefore, let us approach God's Word with love. Second, we must pray. The psalmist prays states,
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. - Psalm 119:18
Brothers and sisters, let us pray and approach God's word with delight today. May the LORD open your eyes and hearts today that you may see the wonderful truth in Him.
