Without Excuse
"For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." - Romans 1:19–20
When the Apostle Paul wrote Roman 1, it is clear that he had Psalm 19:1-6 in mind. As we looked at this week, Psalm 19:1-6 explains how we see God's glory through His creation. To that end, the Apostle Paul explains that we have no excuse for knowing God since his power and divine nature are revealed through His world, yet all people deny him. The evidence of God's existence is straightforward, and, therefore, we do not have any excuses for rejecting God.
So, how can one escape the wrath of God? The Apostle Paul gives us the answer in 1 Corinthians 1:21. He writes,
"Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe."
It is only through hearing and responding to the gospel of Jesus Christ by believing in Christ.
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." - Acts 16:31b
The Well Church, knowing that we are without excuses, let us ensure that our faith is in Christ alone.
