Our Posture
When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
- 2 Chronicles 7:13–14
Does your posture matter when you pray? Today's text explicitly instructs God's people to seek, turn, be humble, and pray. These describe postures of authentic repentance, which is more than talk, and it comes when the Holy Spirit transforms you from the inside out. As the Apostle Paul writes,
"for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." - Philippians 2:13
Dear Church, as you approach God and pray today as God's people, take the posture of humility before God as you seek Him continually and turn from your sinful behavior.
Let us continue to pray for revival and renewal!
