Return to Him

So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! - Luke 15:15-17

In the parable of the prodigal son, we see the son suffering from his sin. He squanders his wealth, and though he was employed, he is hungry and longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating. Even the unclean animals were better off than him. He was utterly lost and hit rock bottom in his sin. When he came to his sense, he realized his sin, and the correct course of action was to return to him.

The Well Church, many of us who are successful and competent attempt to work our way out of our spiritual problems independently. We are like the younger son. Our Father is pouring out his Spirit upon his people, and we are not receiving because of our pride.

Let us look to Christ today, the only one who can help us with our Spiritual dryness. May the Holy Spirit breathe on you today.
