Happy Thanksgiving!
This weekend I am away attending Arrow Leadership’s annual board meeting. Arrow Leadership is an organization devoted to developing Christian Leaders around the world. To find out more about the organization, I encourage you to check out arrowleadership.org. The purpose of this week’s corner is to encourage all of you to attend our first Thanksgiving Eve Service. To many Americans, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of a busy holiday season. Whether it’s preparing a great meal for your loved ones or checking out the Black Friday deals, we commence the hectic season that doesn’t end until the end of the year. In 1864, President Lincoln made Thanksgiving as a national holiday by proclaiming, “Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby appoint and set apart the last Thursday in November next as a day which I desire to be observed by all my fellow-citizens, wherever they may then be, as a day of thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God…” Let’s begin this Thanksgiving with “thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God.” If you are too busy because of Thanksgiving preparations, then the Thanksgiving Eve Service is especially for you. Join us on Wednesday, November 25 at 8:00 pm. Happy Thanksgiving!
