Morning Prayer
Korean churches are known for their early morning prayer services. Having never been to one, I decided to attend a service this week. To make it to church by 5:00 am, I had to leave my house by 3:45 am. The service consisted of individual prayer, praise, reading of the word, sermon, and individual prayer — nothing special to the service. Surprisingly, the service fueled my day. Psalm 5:3 says, “Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly” (NLT). Perhaps Jesus recited this Psalm as he prayed early in the morning (e.g., Mark 1:35; Luke 5:16). The Well Church, knowing that God heard our voice in the morning is a great way to start the day. I am not advocating an early morning service, however, I would like to challenge you, church, to set aside a few minutes in the morning and pray sincerely and earnestly to the LORD. I guarantee you that it will make an enteral difference in your life.
