Fake Christians?

We are in the middle of our Psummer Psalm Pseries. As I mentioned in the introduction of the series, one good reason to look at the book of Pslams is that it is “God’s prescription for a complacent church, because through it he reveals how great, wonderful, magnificent, wise, and utterly awe-inspiring he is” (Kapelrud). We don’t want to be a complacent church. As a community, we need to be transforming from the inside-out. What about us as individuals? What is your relationship with God like?  In 2014, Tim Keller of Redeemer Church observed that “Fake Christians” cannot answer the following questions: 

1. How real has God been this week to your heart?
2. Are you having any particular seasons of sweet delight in God? 
3. Do you really sense his presence in your life? 
4. Do you really sense him giving you his love?
5. Have you been finding Scripture to be alive and active?
6. Are you finding God’s grace more glorious and moving now than you have in the past?
7. Are you conscious of a growing sense of the evil of your heart, and in response, a growing dependence on and grasp of the preciousness of the mercy of God?

These are good questions that we should be asking each other as a church. For some of us, these questions are spiritual wakeup calls. God is calling you and I to wakeup and invest in our relationship with the One who matters most. Let us seek Him, The Well Church. As we seek Him, may He bless us accordingly.
