Hearing His Voice

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.—James 1:22

To follow God is to hear His voice. Christ said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). When hearing God’s word, the only proper response is to do what it says. As Samuel pointed out to Saul, obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22).
