Light of the World
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. —Mark 13:24-25
Happy Monday!
In today's text, Jesus is explicitly warning his disciples about the end times. The removal of light (sun, moon, and stars) is always in the context of judgment. It represents the removal of God's blessings.
As we journey through our dark world, let us think about the Advent candles this season and what the light represents — Jesus Christ. Let us remember, "God is light; in him there is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5).
May you rest in the eternal hope in Christ!
Merry Christmas!
