Blessings

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
—Numbers 6:24-26

In Scripture, peace (shalom) has a more in-depth and richer meaning than our English word. It means much more than an absence of conflict. As indicated in the priestly blessing in Numbers 6, the biblical word has an idea of blessings, especially in restoring one’s relationship with God.
