"Return to me" (2-minute Devotional)

They shall not return to the land of Egypt, but Assyria shall be their king, because they have refused to return to me. —Hosea 11:5

“Return to me” is the theme of Hosea. What does returning to God look like? First and foremost, we return to God through repentance. Peter said, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). Practically, we must first recognize and acknowledge our sins. Then we must fully confess by being transparent before God. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Second, we return to God by trusting in Him alone. Our hope and security must come from God. The Well Church, let us fully confess our sins today and return to God. Let us place our trust in Christ alone.
