2-minute Devotional (7/7/2020)
To me they cry, “My God, we—Israel—know you.”
—Hosea 8:2
There is a difference between thinking that you know someone and knowing someone. We often think that by knowing about a person, whether the person is an entertainer, an author, or a celebrity. When you think you know someone, ask yourself, "Does the other person know me?" In Hosea 8:2, the Israelites thought they knew God. They cried out to God, "We know you!" However, they did not know God. What about you? Do you know God? Matthew 7:21-23 reminds us that we are saved when Jesus knows us. Let us place our hope and trust in Jesus Christ by returning to Him. Let us read and study His word. Let us be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). ]
Let us know Him and make Him known!

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
—Matthew 7:21-23
