Making Decisions (2-minute Devotional)

They made kings, but not through me. They set up princes, but I knew it not.
—Hosea 8:4a

Some sources suggest that we make an average of 35,000 choices a day. That makes it about a decision every three seconds. We are always making decisions! We make some decisions without giving too much thought, and for others, we spend a lot of time mulling over the decision. When making important decisions, the Bible teaches believers to seek God's wisdom. Proverbs 2:6 says, "For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding" (NLT). God should be our source of wisdom for all things. In Hosea 8:4a, God accuses Israel of making important decisions without seeking God's wisdom. The result is utter destruction. The Well Church, as we face important decisions, let us ask God for His wisdom.

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
—Proverbs 3:5-6
