Active Listening

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, 
that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

The Bible teaches that God hears our prayers. Many believers do not pray in confidence because they do not fully understand today’s text. We do not need to know God’s “secret plans.” The Apostle John is emphasizing the fact that we should ask according to what the Bible teaches about God’s will for us. Listening and reading Scripture are crucial aspects of prayer that we often ignore or forget.
