Sanctification

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. —James 3:2

James reminds us that we all make mistakes. We are not perfect, nor will we attain perfection here on earth. We will achieve it in heaven! So, how should we handle our imperfections? Believers must seek to grow in Christ through sanctification. Westminster Shorter Catechism question 35 defines sanctification as

"the work of God's free grace by which our whole person is made new in the image of God, and we are made more and more able to become dead to sin and alive to righteousness."

The Well Church, in Christ, we are a new creation (Romans 5:17). As the Holy Spirit leads and guides us, let us seek the perfect man, our Lord Jesus Christ, and grow in holiness.
