I Surrender

From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. —James 3:10a

As James points out in 3:10, we have all experienced blessing and cursing. No matter how hard we try, we are incapable of controlling the tongue. The tongue reveals our fallen and sinful nature and the need for God’s saving grace. It is only through the Holy Spirit’s transforming power that we can change from the inside-out.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. —Galatians 5:22

Brothers and sisters, let us yield to the Holy Spirit by surrendering all areas of our lives to Him.
