What is my part?

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. — Ephesians 4:15-16

As we looked at yesterday, Christians grow in Christ by being vitally connected to Jesus Christ through prayer and God's word. The Apostle Paul illustrates that the church as a body, where each member fits together like a puzzle piece. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans,

"so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." — Romans 12:5

Jesus prays for the church to be one as our triune God is one. He prays,

"I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me." — John 17:20-23

As we continue to reflect on today's text, let us honestly ask the question, "What can I do to make sure that my church is harmonious?"

Let us pray that we strive to be a healthy and harmonious church.
