Children of God

And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God. - John 1:34

In today's verse, John the Baptist bears witness about Jesus Christ, stating that he is the Son of God. John's encounter with him during Jesus' baptism enabled him to point to Jesus, with clarity and conviction, and declare that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Chosen One. It is only through the Son of God that we have eternal life. As the Apostle John concludes his gospel, he writes,

"but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." - John 20:31

Brothers and sisters, through Christ, we are all children of God. The Apostle Paul writes,

"for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith." - Galatians 3:26

As children of God, let us remember God's love today as we reflect on the mysterious truth that we are His children.
