Our Anchor
If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. - John 3:12-13
Do you have faith? The author of Hebrews defines faith as
"confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." - Hebrews 11:1
We need faith to have confidence and assurance in what we cannot see. In today's text, Jesus teaches that we can only believe in "heavenly things" by believing in him. Because Jesus is God, he has direct knowledge from above. In other words, we must trust in God with all matters of life.
The Well Church, let us believe in the promises of God recorded in Scripture. Life is unpredictable. Even when it is difficult to accept God's truth due to challenging circumstances, let us approach him who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." - Hebrews 13:8
He is the only constant in life. May Christ be your anchor.
