Jesus Saves

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? — Jeremiah 17:9

When we reflect on the condition of our hearts, we begin to compare ourselves with others who are worst than us. Many believe that people are basically good and, consequently, think that many will go to heaven. However, Scripture is clear that we are all sinners, and our heart is deceitful. The Apostle Paul writes,

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23

So, what can we do about this seemingly hopeless situation? We need to be born again! One commentator writes, "The human heart has an unlimited capacity for wickedness and deceit so that human resources are incapable of dealing with it. The only remedy is a radical change, nothing less than rebirth."

Paul continues with the Good News in his letter to the Romans. He further writes,

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

Brothers and sisters, God is love, and Jesus saves! Let us affirm our faith in Christ as we follow Him as His children.
