Be Angry?
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. — Ephesians 4:26-27
The Apostle Paul gives four commands in these verses. (1) Be angry; (2) do not sin; (3) do not let the sun go down on your anger; and (4) do not give an opportunity. There is a place for anger. Jesus demonstrated “holy” anger in response to sin and evil (Matthew 21; Mark 11; Luke 19). Believers should be angry by things that offend the heart of God. However, becoming angry with someone because of personal resentment or envy is sinful.
The Well Church, let us continue to rely on Holy Spirit to be conformed to His image. Jesus “loved righteousness and hated wickedness” (Hebrews 1:9). In our desire to see God’s will performed, let us turn our anger to prayer.
