Dew from Heaven
"It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion!" — Psalm 133:3a
Today's text continues the illustration of what it is like for God's people to live in harmony. In an arid region like Israel, water represents life, and dew is essential for crops. Speaking of water, Jesus Christ said,
"but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." — John 4:14
Brothers and sisters, as we live in unity, it is essential for us to drink the water Christ gives us through the Holy Spirit. To drink the water is to come to Jesus and believe in him.
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. — John 7:37-39
Let us be the faithful church united as one.
