But Mary

Then the disciples went back to their homes. But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb... — John 20:10-11

After seeing the empty tomb, not fully understanding what had taken place, Peter and John head back home. It is unclear from the text what they had done afterward. Did they tell the other disciples about the empty tomb? Did they believe, like Mary, that someone has taken the body away? If so, what did they tell the others? Mary, however, stood at the tomb. Unlike Peter and John, she wanted to grieve and find the body.

What do you do when you do not have all the answers in challenging situations? Do you keep pressing on and seek answers from God or do you give up and "go back home"?

Brothers and sisters, let us place our hope in God in times of uncertainty. He is our hope!

"but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
— Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
