God is Love

"I have loved you," says the LORD. But you say, "How have you loved us?" - Malachi 5:2

God is Love. We know this biblical teaching; however, there are times when the truth seems more abstract and theological than real. We often ask, How can a God of love allow bad things to happen (to good people)? The Israelites were wrestling with this very question during the time of Malachi. Instead of drawing closer to God, the people of God walked away from Him, ignoring the biblical truth.

Brothers and sisters, the Bible teaches us that God is Love. His love is more than a feeling; it is unconditional and covenantal.

"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments." - Deut. 7:9

Know that God loves you, especially when you cannot feel His love. Our feelings are not a good measure of how much He loves us. Just because you are having a bad day and not feeling His love does not mean that He does not love you.

Let us remain in His love.
