Cosmic Praise

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy
before the LORD, for he comes,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
and the peoples in his faithfulness. - Psalm 96:11-13

Today's verses describe a time when the LORD will judge the world in righteousness and faithfulness. When all people receive and welcome the LORD as King and worship Him, the rest of the creation will joyfully celebrate. Isaiah pictures similar cosmic praise and celebration:

Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. - Isaiah 49:13

The Well Church, let us receive the LORD as King by wholeheartedly submitting to Him. As God's dearly beloved, let us give Him the worship and praise that He deserves. Let us love Him with all our might now.
