LISTEN TO ME!
Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. - Psalm 5:1-2
Psalm 5 is a lament psalm where the writer, David, desperately cries out to God. Tim Keller says that it is an "uncensored prayer, straight from the heart." David begins the prayer with two bold commands to God -- "give ear to my words" and "give attention to the sound of my cry." In other words, David is telling God to LISTEN to his prayer.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. - 1 John 5:14
The Well Church, when was the last time you cried out to God with a command to LISTEN to you? Whenever you are facing a challenging situation, God wants us to cry out to Him like David. Are you in desperate need of God's power, healing, love, affirmation, or intervention? Cry out to Him.
Let us also pray for our church that we will be able to meet in person and worship in a new location soon. Let us pray that God will provide for all our needs. He is Jehovah-Jireh!
