In the morning
O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. - Psalm 5:3
How do you begin your day? Do you have a mourning routine? Many people I know grab their phones first thing in the morning. They check their email, the news, weather, updates on social media, or play the latest games.
In Psalm 5:3, we see that David begins the day with prayer - twice he mentions, in the morning. He not only cries out to God, but he also prepares a sacrifice for Him. He prepares for his prayer as worship.
What does this look like for you and me? We should not randomly pray whatever thought comes to our mind, but we should carefully prepare our hearts for worship. We can do this by writing our prayers and feelings out in our journals before we pray.
As David cries out to God in prayer, he has the confidence in knowing that God hears his voice. As our morning routine, brothers and sisters, let us begin the day by boldly go before God with our prayers as a sacrifice for God...and watch.
And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. - 1 John 5:15
