The Word

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1

The Gospel of John begins with the beginning. The verse echoes the opening verse of the Book of Genesis.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." - Genesis 1:1

Before Genesis 1:1 was John 1:1. The Word, Jesus Christ, eternally existed before creation. There never was a time when Jesus did not exist. He is preexistent. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, as well as the source of eternal life. This essential and foundational truth about Jesus is what you and I must believe by faith. So, let me ask you, Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator, Sustainer, and source of eternal life? 

To have faith in Jesus means to trust Him without reservation. The Apostle Paul explains,

"We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are." - Romans 3:22 (NLT)

We are made right with God when we trust the Word and reject all other ways of salvation. Brothers and sisters, let us reaffirm our faith in The Word, Christ Jesus, our Lord.
