One in Christ

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1

In the opening verse of John, we not only see that The Word is preexistent, but also The Word has an eternal relationship with God. The Father and the Son were in an intimate relationship with each other from the beginning. Before recognizing the Word as God, the text distinguishes the Word from God, revealing the profound mystery of the Trinity. As one commentator notes, "Coequal, indistinguishable, yet distnict." As God was perfectly united the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit before the beginning, God's people also are united with Him through Jesus Christ.

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands," - Revelation 7:9

The Well Church, I want to encourage you to meditate on our verse today slowly as it reveals the mystery of the Trinity in one single verse. We are one in Christ!
