Shekinah Glory

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14

In today's passage, the glory John refers to is the display of God's presence in the tabernacle. Christians adopted the phrase Shekina Glory to symbolize God's presence. Shekina is derived from the Hebrew word shakan, meaning "to dwell" or "to reside." Moses asked,

"Please show me your glory." And he said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name 'The LORD.' And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live." - Exodus 33:18b-20

God's response to Moses demonstrates that we cannot see God as he is and live. It is only through Jesus that we can see God's glory. Jesus Christ became flesh and revealed God's glory to His people.

For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily - Colossians 2:9

The Well Church, may you experience the Shekinah glory today in Christ Jesus our Lord.
