Make Room for Him
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14
After establishing that Jesus became man, John continues that he dwelt among his people, including John. The word dwelt comes from the Hebrew word tabernacle. So another way to read this phrase is Jesus tabernacled among us. The significance of the tabernacle comes from Exodus 25-34. Not only was it a tented palace for God, but it was also where Moses communed with Him. Essentially, the tabernacle represented God's presence and glory. God manifested his presence in the tabernacle in the past, but now Jesus dwells among His people.
The Well Church, let us remember that Jesus dwells among us. We are His temple, His tabernacle.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; - 1 Corinthians 6:19
We must always be ready and make room for Christ in our hearts.
What can you do today to make room for Him?
