Above All

He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven is above all. - John 3:31

Who do you go for help when you are in trouble? Do you seek it from friends, the internet, or social media? We often forget to go to the one who is above all, Jesus Christ. He alone came from heaven, unlike all others. We see a qualitative difference between Jesus and man in today's verse. As Jesus mentioned in John 3:13,

"No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man."

Beloved Church, as we reflect on today's verse, let us remember that Jesus is above all. Instead of looking for solutions from man, let us look to Christ and rest in him.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30
