No Condemnation
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. - John 3:17
God's motivation for sending Jesus into the world is love. Because of his great love for us, Christ came on Christmas. Contrary to how many believe, John 3:17 makes it clear that Jesus did not come to condemn the world. So then, why do we often feel condemned when we sin? There is a difference between condemnation and conviction. Unlike condemnation, when we surrender to God, conviction from the Holy Spirit leads to life.
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. - 2 Corinthians 7:10
Dear Church, remember that God is love, and Jesus came to save. How is the Holy Spirit working in you today? Let us yield to him and follow him.
