Come to the Light
"And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed." - John 3:19-20
No matter how hard we try, we cannot hide our sins, and God will eventually expose them. God speaks through the prophet Jeremiah saying,
"For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from me, inor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. But first I will doubly repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations." - Jeremiah 16:17-18
Dear Church, although we cannot hide from the light, we can be set free from the stronghold of sin by confessing our sins to God. The apostle John writes,
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9
Let us start 2022 with a clean slate, confessing our sins to Christ, remembering that it is only through Jesus that we are saved.
God is good!
