Goal of our salvation

He answered, "And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?" Jesus said to him, "You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you." He said, "Lord, I believe," and he worshiped him. - John 9:36-38

When Jesus asked the healed blind man, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" his response revealed the readiness of the man's heart to receive Jesus. Unlike the Jews and the Pharisees, he asks, "Who is he ... that I may believe in him?" And, having heard from Jesus, he not only believes in Him but also worships Him. The goal of our salvation is to worship Jesus.

When one realizes the magnitude of God's grace, mercy, and love, the only proper response is worship. Even though he was cast out of the synagogue, he was able to worship Jesus, and Jesus does not cast out those who come to Him.

Dear Church, as the bride of Christ, let us reaffirm our faith in Jesus by answering His call, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" and worship Him today, which is our only proper response.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
   let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! - Psalm 95:6
