First Step
It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge, the water above that point began backing up a great distance away at a town called Adam, which is near Zarethan.
- Joshua 3:15-16a (NLT)
Life is a journey, and God placed our church on a unique path. We often do not have all the answers when we live by faith. I do not know why we are in Highland Lakes, but I know that God is faithful and leads us as our Good Shepherd. Because of the incredible generosity of Christ Community Church, we can freely worship our Almighty God in spirit and truth.
Whenever I face uncertainty, I meditate on Joshua 3. Under Joshua's leadership, the Israelites entered the promised land by crossing the Jordan River during flood season. Although God promised them a safe journey across the Jordan, the flooded river did not stop until the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant got their feet wet. They faced the mighty river and, by faith, took the first step, not knowing what would happen to them.
The Well Church, as we begin a new chapter, let us follow God and live by faith as Joshua and the Israelites. May our faith continue to grow as we follow Him.
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. - 2 Corinthians 5:6-7
