A New Life

So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people - John 4:28

Scripture teaches that in Christ, we are a new person. The Apostle Paul writes,

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

When the woman at the well encountered Jesus and genuinely believed that he was the Messiah, she changed. She was no longer ashamed of her old self, and she had to tell everyone about Jesus Christ. In amazement, she leaves her water jar, representing what was essential to her, and heads to town to deliver the good news. She no longer had to hide.

Dear Church, let us remember that we are a new creation as children of God. You are no longer defined by your works, accomplishments, education, or net worth, and you belong to Christ.

As beloved children of God, let us imitate him and share the Good News of Christ with those around us before it is too late.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. - Ephesians 5:1-2
