Resurrection Power

"Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen."
- Luke 24:5b-6

As we return to our "normal" life after lent and Easter, let us remember the significance of the resurrection of our Lord. Many who fear God, are generous, and pray do not believe in the resurrection and do not believe in Jesus Christ. Doing good does not lead anyone to eternal life. As Tim Keller explains that this is not new, and the first century Greeks did not believe in the resurrection either. He writes,

"The resurrection was as inconceivable for the first disciples, as impossible for them to believe, as it is for many of us today. Granted, their reasons would have been different from ours. The Greeks did not believe in resurrection; in the Greek worldview, the afterlife was liberation of the soul from the body."

The resurrection matters!

As the Apostle Paul wrote,

"And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain."
- 1 Corinthians 15:14

Dear Church, let us live in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.

HE IS RISEN, INDEED!
