Last Sayings of Jesus (6 & 7)

"It Is Finished" (John 19:30)

The sixth saying is recorded only in John 19:30 and amounts to only one Greek word. All the work the Father had sent him was completed, specifically his work on the cross by atoning for sins.

"Father, into Your Hands I Commit My Spirit" (Luke 23:46)

Jesus' seventh and last saying from the cross is recorded only in Luke's gospel. Jesus quotes Psalm 31:5, a Psalm about trusting God in severe circumstances.

Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.
- Psalm 31:5

The Well Church, on this Good Friday, let us reflect on Christ's love demonstrated on the cross. He came

"not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
‘Matthew 20:28
