Give or Receive?

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. - Colossians 3:12–14

What are your expectations from your community? Is it to serve, give and sacrifice, or to receive? Many are often not satisfied with their community because the group is not meeting their expectations.

Paul calls believers to a holy lifestyle consistent with their new identity in Jesus Christ in his letter to Colossae. He urges the church to bear with one another, loving and accepting each other. And forgive each other. Our expectations within our community must be to love and serve.

Let us look to Jesus Christ, who loves us just as we are. We don't need to track how much we have given to the community. As Christ has freely given, let us freely love, serve, and forgive each other in our church.

Who do you need to serve and forgive today?
