Let me ask you a question...
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his HolySpirit. (1 Thess. 4:7–8)
Executive Coach Bobb Biehl says,
If you ask profound questions,
you get profound answers!
If you ask shallow questions,
you get shallow answers!
If you ask no questions,
you get no answers!
As we saw in today's sermon, Jesus asks questions that pierce the heart. I have seen people struggle with their relationship with God in my pastoral ministry. When I struggle, I often reflect on this question: "What three changes in me would be most pleasing to God?"
Dear Church, how would you answer that question? As the Holy Spirit leads you towards holiness, I encourage you to ponder this question and yield to the refining and transforming work of the Spirit.
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:13-16
