What are your priorities?
Jesus answered them, "I did one work, and you all marvel at it. Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man's whole body well? - John 7:21-23
Scripture teaches that the most important command is to love God with your whole being, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:30-31). When you set your heart and eyes on God's priorities, you can bring glory to God with your life. The Jerusalem crowd missed Christ and the opportunity to glorify God for the man's healing because they focused on protecting their authority and personal interests.
Dear Church, what are your priorities set for today? Is it to glorify God or for self-preservation? As the Apostle Paul teaches,
"Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." - Colossians 3:2
Let us glorify God by giving thanks to God and setting our hearts on heavenly things.
