You've Got Power

Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. - John 7:39

To clarify the point, John explains by saying that Jesus used water as a metaphor for the Holy Spirit. The source of the Holy Spirit is Jesus himself, once glorified, meaning after he has died, risen, and ascended. Therefore, "those who believed in him" are not only those who believed in Jesus during his earthly ministry but also who would later believe by professing faith in Christ.

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. - Romans 8:11

Dear Church, we have the power of the Holy Spirit within us. His power leads, convicts, teaches, and equips us to do His work and spread the gospel.

How is the Holy Spirit working in your life?
