True Disciple

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, - John 8:31

In today's verse, Jesus explains what it means to be a true disciple. Unlike many of the disciples who left Jesus in John 6:66, true disciples abide and remain in Jesus' word. To abide in His word is to follow Jesus Christ, obey His commands, and persevere in Him through hardship.

After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. - John 6:66

Dear Church, as we embark on our Praying the Bible season together, as faithful disciples, let us submit to His word and remain in Him.
